There’s times to get after it and there are times to play and explore.
I’ve release two Instructionals so far that have been very well-received (The Guillotine Code and My Escaping the Pin Seminar).
These are available here:
I’ve been working on a lot more but it takes time because I like to put out a quality, well-organized product – not just some random moves thrown together and taught quickly.
And, the one instructional that has been requested most is an explanation of my pressure and control game. This is the essence of MY BJJ Style and it works across the combative spectrum and for all ages and body types.
This will be a unique instructional in that it is based on giving you a deep understanding of the concepts and mechanics of how to pin, grind, control, and ride your opponent until they’re in such exhausted misery that they will give you any pass, position or submission that you want.
Other Instructionals that I’m working on:
* Wristlocks
* The Fundamentals of Grappling
* Headlock Defense
* The Back Game
* Butterfly Guard
* Sweeping with Taps and Picks
and more

I’m planning to begin doing more seminars. If you’re interested in hosting me for one, please contact me at roymarshjiujitsu@gmail.com.
I put together this video to show the responses and feedback to past seminars of mine. What generally separates my seminars and teaching from many is that I have a strong focus on giving a deeper conceptual and detailed understanding of the Art so that the student can retain and adapt what I teach.
In my experience this is far more beneficial than teaching a bunch of cool moves that students forget as soon as they walk out the door.

People new to BJJ are often nervous about training with upper ranks because they feel like they are wasting the Upper Belt’s time.
Alternatively, Some people have the false belief that in order to be the best they have to train exclusively with the best, highest ranked people. I discuss why I believe both ideas are flawed.

One of the things I see a lot is older Jiu-Jitsu practitioners quitting or Just switching to playing defense because they can no longer hang with the younger guys.
I discuss here why that doesn’t have to be and why it illustrates an incorrect training mentality.

I asked one of my students about some his Ezekiel Set Ups. Because he can’t use his legs, he’s become dangerous from “bad” positions.
And, the Ezekiel Choke is one of his sneakiest, most useful weapons.
I asked him to show me a few of his set ups.
Here he shows a cool set up from the bottom of side control.

I try not to base my Jiu-Jitsu around flexibility, strength or trick moves. But, it never hurts to have a few surprises in your bag.
