Getting to the back is one thing, but controlling it and effectively attacking from there is a different story. My feeling is that you need to be fundamentally sound and controlling, but also relentless with combining threats, conventionally and unconventionally. This video was filmed after my recent seminar at FX Self Defense in Sylva, North Carolina. Great times and great people. Big thanks to them for having me out. The instruction from the seminar will be available on my Patreon.com/knightjiujitsu.
Always be as safe as possible in training and competition. I hope these details help. Thanks as always for watching!

The crucifix is a powerful controlling position with lots of submission opportunities. The entries in this video are some you may or may not be using, but I have found these to be some of the most useful, sneaky, effective entries for this position. For submission opportunities, check out other videos on that topic on my channel. I hope you like it!

The back is the king of positions and what we should be aiming for the whole time, and this video is all about how to submit from there. What started as around 10 back mount submissions turned into several more. So here is my take on some high percentage submission options from back mount. Many of these are gi-dependent, but many are also applicable to no gi. Be sure to check out more on this channel on how to get to the back, and of course Patreon.com/knightjiujitsu has tons more. Thanks as always for watching!

We discuss basic escape options for the most common collar chokes from the back mount in jiu-jitsu. The basic collar choke in bjj is still a high percentage submission but most people now try for the bow and arrow choke. We explain how to defend and escape both.
