This is the fourth video on the omoplata from the guard. This is something you can do when your opponent attempts to roll out of your omoplata and you do the “Re-roll”. The omoplata is one of my favorite techniques and I have a very detailed system to follow for it. More advanced videos to come. Alright guys now I’m going to talk about breaking and passing the guard. Alright, first we’re going to start with the closed guard so we have to break it, we have to get out of the closed guard. Alright. Now, okay. I’ve always wanted to control my opponent’s armpits, I don’t want to sit here okay. Why? Elbow to the face, okay. A lot of sport you guys like to hang out here, that’s great for sport jitsu. I don’t want to get hit, there are a few instances where you see MMA guys doing this and they just eat a lot of punches, elbows here and they cover-up and they become passive. You don’t want that. Always posture, always control the here posture.
The more you can stand up into them, the more you can stand up into them and get your positioning here the better but he’s going to try and sweep you this way right or both feet yeah. That’s bad. So, here control. Now I like to stand back here, bring one foot in, sit, see how my knee comes through? Right there, drop the knee. If he doesn’t do anything, I’m over. If he does I can pass and choke him out. – Knee through, break. Knee comes over here it can do a lot of different passes, this one too. Take the back, it doesn’t matter how you pass. We’ll talk about that a little bit later, but first how to break the guard. One, two, three, four. Sometimes she can break here, just stand back up. One, two, three, four, stand. Another situation one, two, can’t get it in, can’t get it in, stand up, break the guard. Okay… That’s how you break the guard.
This week Master Ricardo Cavalcanti shows us how to finish your opponent from side control with a clock choke.
