This clip is from a class discussing how to eliminate defenses once on an opponent’s back, and clear the path to the strangle. We looked at details for trapping the defending arms, securing the one arm choke and the short choke. More class material on my Patreon.

Getting to the back is one thing, but getting the choke or other submissions requires dismantling the opponent’s defense. Here is a quick clip on shutting down defensive measures from back control. Longer video on this topic to come to my YouTube channel, so keep an eye out.

There are several issues that can make finishing the Darce choke difficult for people. A common problem that individuals will state is having too short of arms, or similarly, their opponent is too thick in the shoulders and upper body.
The way we address Darce issues in this video is by, not only showing details for improving the execution of the strangle, but also showing alternatives to enhance or combine with Darce attempts and failures. We explore guillotine modifications, anaconda dilemmas and no gi baseball bat choke variations, for these reasons. Hope you enjoy!

The Rear Naked Choke is the highest percentage submission in MMA, so why is ADCC champion and 5th-degree BJJ black belt Demian Maia doing it wrong? And why might this all be Chuck Norris’s fault?

The Diving Guillotine is great for at least three reasons:
1. It is a standalone submission opportunity in itself.
2. It is unexpected when entered into as a diving pass
3. It combines well to link into other chokes and front headlock attacks.
In this video, I show how the diving guillotine works as a pass and how to use it for either the mounted guillotine finish, anaconda, Darce or 100% style back take. Let me know if you use this technique / system already, and what else it can lead to in the comments.

This clip from a class I recently taught while at @kravoz in Maryland focused on back control, attacks and escapes. This particular setup for an arm wrap to armbar is a sneaky and effective submission option to combo with when attacking from the back. Full class coming soon to Patreon.com/KnightJiuJitsu.
Huge thanks to @kravoz for having me and the whole @knifecontrolconcepts crew out for the weekend. And thanks to @boomboomcheney for being my uke during this section.

Recently I was asked which TWO Submission were my favorite for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu…
You might be surprised at how simple my answers are.
These two subs are ones I have successfully used in Adult Black Belt Level Competition and for years training Brazilian Jiu-jitsu.
Sometimes, at least for me, SIMPLE is BETTER…
Hope these help…
What 2 Submissions do you prefer? and WHY?
