You must not get your head grabbed in half guard! I also show how to utilize the Tilt to off balance and gain the Underhook, Reverse Sweep and pressure the pass
The Giggler sweep! A sweep so simple it will make you chuckle. No really you better chuckle. It’s the rules of the sweep…
I hope everyone has a great holiday. This will be a great present to give your training partners??

http://teachmegrappling.com This video I breakdown the followup for my half guard 2 on 1 back attack. Sometimes you can’t take the back but you have a good opportunity to hit the nogi giggler! Sean Roberts is a friend of mine and he has made the giggler famous! Now you can do it in nogi too. Check out the details and you are sure to find something useful! Enjoy! I revived a request to show some more videos on the X-Guard. Here is one of my favorite sweeps from this position. It is very easy to pick up and start using right away.
I will be posting some more advanced technique from here later on.

When I first started learning the Butterfly Guard, I used to make myself so tired! I was using my legs all wrong and I didn’t understand the idea of off-balancing (Kuzushi) at all. As I gained more experience and began to study the games of BJJ champions such as Marcelo Garcia, Braulio Estima and Jean Jacques Machado, the beauty and efficiency of the position started to come to me.
In this video, I break down a really simple, basic Butterfly Sweep. This technique is fundamental to understanding how the Butterfly Hooks are supposed to be applied in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
In the 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu system, the Butterfly Guard can often look quite different. Besides there being no gi to grab, there’s also the idea of lineage at play. Our Butterfly Guard is generally passed down to Eddie Bravo from Jean Jacques Machado, one of the great Butterfly players in Jiu Jitsu history. As such, there’s a huge emphasis on overhooks and using the body to control the opponent rather than gi grips.
Beyond that, the Butterfly Guard is the perfect launching pad for all of the best submissions from Rubber Guard. My favorites from here include the Flying Kung Fu to Go Go Clinch, and the standard Gogoplata. Triangle Choke is always around the corner, too.

This video shows some of my favorite sneaky arm locks that tend to surprise people from time to time. These are either unconventional or difficult to defend even when they see they are being set up. I included several positions, even though nearly every position has multiple ones that would fit this theme.
Included among these are:
– S-Mount Double Attack
– Kesa Double Arm Lock
– Head Hook Arm Lock from Guard
– Dead Orchard from Rubber Guard
– Rolling Arm Lock from Turtle
– Overhook Arm Lock from Back Mount
Let me know some of your favorite sneak attacks in the comments.

This collaboration video in association with Budo Brothers is over a topic that I have been exploring for some time now, knife defense in ground grappling. This is the result of years of training with experienced grapplers, martial artists, law enforcement and other industry professionals interested in self defense and personal protection.
Weapons consideration is a very realistic threat in self defense. Defending against knife attacks, or knife usage in a fight, is a scary and dangerous possibility. In this video we explore a potential position one is likely to find themselves in in a physical confrontation if the fight hits the ground. We focus in this short segment specially on side control and transitioning from a severely inferior position to a potentially dominant one, using a sweep that is useful in a variety of fighting situations. Please be safe in any physical training you do, particularly when training in combative or competitive endeavors.
