The stack pass! One of the most miserable passes in jiujitsu. This position can put a toll on your back.
I was asked this question from my email list the other day. He wrote “Professor Chad In class I am being smashed. My partners are using the stack pass. I have tried walking my shoulders back but it seems to not work. Any help? Thank you! #noliabilities”
This video should help you out and save your back some trouble friend! Just remember walking your shoulders back is only one part of the technique. You must also block the hands.
Let me know in the comment section if this helps you all out.

In today’s no gi BJJ rolling video you’ll see me hunting Kimura catches and Back Takes while my student Justin (recent Brown Belt Masters 2019 No Gi Worlds Champ) is hunting guillotines.
When you watch the video I hope you enjoy the rolls themselves. But more importantly for your own training I hope you take the idea of focus to your own training.
When we are rolling there is a deliberate purpose to the BJJ training. We have specific techniques we’d like to aim for. Granted we don’t always hit them, it’s our main focus.
This is something you should be doing in your Brazilian Jiu-jitsu training all the time. This is how you improve the techniques and begin to develop styles and systems. You test the technique out, make mistakes, adjust and then re-test.
So again I hope you enjoyed the No Gi Brazilian Jiujitsu rolling session and maybe got something for your own training.
Thanks for watching.

In this rolling video you’ll see my student’s get the better of me several times. Which I’m pretty happy about. During this particular BJJ training class we did a lot of situational rolling. Some rounds start with us having the kimura already locked in place, we did some passing guard vs sweeping rounds and ended with some full rounds.
I was personally hunting kimruas for this class as you’ll see me diving and rolling for kimuras from all kinds of funky positions. I’m trying to improve my ability to catch them in weird spots to boost my Brazilian Jiu-jitsu submissions.
I think my favorite moment of this training session happened @1:09 where one of my guys Matt has been trying to work on his takedowns. He’s already a monster from the guard using triangle chokes and that sort of thing. But his takedowns have always needed a little bit of work. Along with some Judo practice he’s also been drilling some shots. And during our roll at that point in the video he hit me with a beautiful double leg.
If you watch the video you’ll see me goofing around and then Matt plows right into me followed by me laughing. I think I called him a jerk with the happiest tone possible.
Hope you enjoyed this video! Thanks for watching.

Taco Tuesday!
To open the show, I tried to give some money away to some competitors that have been posting their stuff on Instagram, but alas… it was slim pickins. Settled in on a great one. 10th Planet Brown Belt @frankimura10p but he didn’t answer! Maybe next time Francis, ole boy!
https://www.instagram.com/frankimura10p/
In Jiu Jitsu class, we worked on escaping the back position and I’m sharing some of those golden details with you here. I think it will help you guys tremendously. Please let me know in the comments!
My man Bruce Stephens got his Blue Belt! Big ups to Bruce. he’s a G.
I also included one round of my rolling since we have had so many people requesting to see more footage of me rolling with my students and visitors. That’s easy footage to produce because I roll every day. (For those of you looking for even more bmac rolling footage, I roll with my beginners class at 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Decatur live here on YouTube every Tuesday and Thursday night.) This round is against a visiting Purple Belt and includes a couple of really nasty Rubber Guard sequences. Pay attention to how I play these and there is a LOT to learn there.
If you wanna see some in depth Rubber Guard instruction, I’ve got a set with BJJ Fanatics that you can pick up here: https://bjjfanatics.com/products/rubber-guard-the-meathook-by-brandon-mccaghren
And my website is packed with Rubber Guard, too! Check it out here: https://bmac.mykajabi.com/offers/TdidGutz/checkout
