These 3 Triangle choke setups are really sneaky and I have been using them a lot recently after studying Felipe Andrew. When developing a guard it’s not only important to have good systems and sweeps but also to have some really dangerous submissions that are hard to predict because it keeps your opponent in a level of fear which makes them more defensive. A strong stalling opponent on both knees is one of the most annoying things to deal with in jiu jitsu. Often it can be hard to find the submission because your opponent pulls their elbows so tight, making triangles and Omoplatas very difficult, but this often brings their base down exposing the loop choke, this video I discuss the combo of mixing the loop choke with the collar sleeve. One of my favorite traps or kill zones in BJJ is the Triangle Crucifix. In this video I show how to escape the Kimura Trap and get to strangling your opponent!

If you’ve ever been caught in a double under pass, you’ll know how strong it is! But it’s not unbeatable! Check out this video of Atos black belt Mike Carbullido showing two slick double under defenses – one when your opponent locks his/her hands and another when he/she grabs the lapel – straight to a nice triangle or arm bar from triangle guard!
