Here is a simple gi hack to keep your pants on! (And how I tie my belt)
Sometimes it’s good to have the break in between to tie your gi up. But in tournaments sometimes it can be a hassle if you are winning and have to stop to tie your pants.

When deciding what I think are the most important escapes that people should learn early on in their training, I considered things positionally. The big 4 positions you’ll spend the most time in are mount, side control, guard and back mount. Being on the losing end of these sucks. Learning how to escape these positions is one of the most useful ways to spend your training time.
In this video, I show what I consider to be the most useful and helpful escapes from these positions.
• Upa Escape from Mount
• Elbow Escape from Mount
• Guard Replacement from Side Control
• Back Mount Escape
• Knee Cut Guard Pass
I hope this video is helpful. Let me know your thoughts in the comments. Thank you all for watching!

Here’s a little heelhook defence flow you can do before your next nogi training. The solo drill will improve your hip and leg mobility, in this case for leglock defence.

In all seriousness don’t be that parent. Leave Coaching to the professionals. Cheer them on all you want.
The worst part of this video besides my terrible acting is that these are all things I’ve personally heard parents say and do.

This video shows the basics of de la Riva guard, one of the most useful and versatile guards in BJJ. From this position, you can sweep, submit, take the back in a variety of ways. I include some of my favorites, as well as what I consider to be some of the highest percentage techniques off this guard.
Included in this video:
• Basic DLR Setup
• Triangle Choke
• Rolling Arm Lock
• Standard Back Take
• Berimbolo to Back

This is a sweep I really love to use.
I see a lot of people have trouble with it because they’re not maximising the force that they can exert into the sweep.
Here, I show some details to make it work better for you.
