Fresh from a spectacular 2019 campaign, UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya begins 2020 in Las Vegas on March 7 by defending his title against Cuban powerhouse Yoel Romero in the main event of UFC 248 at T-Mobile Arena. Plus, the strawweight championship will be on the line in the co-main event, as China’s Zhang Weili defends her title for the first time against a hungry Joanna Jedrzejczyk who is determined to take back her crown.

This is by far my favorite submission set up!
Once you get to the ending position you should be golden. It should be nearly impossible to get out if you can lock up that triangle from the top.
After it’s locked in take your time and single out the arm. Here is the best part! If they flip you over it makes the choke worse 😉

Good, strong posture is the one of the hallmarks of a great Jiu Jitsu practitioner. When using Jiu Jitsu in a self defense situation, good fundamentals becomes even more important because the consequences are so much more serious.
This is a short clip from a class I taught on headlock counters and escapes, and we have to start by talking about posture and fundamentals.
I hope you guys find this helpful!

Should White Belts and newer BJJ practitioners practice and drill techniques to both sides? That’s the comment I’m replying to that came from one of the viewers the other day.
Here’s the original video: https://youtu.be/HDowUHDOdmE
In the video I talk about how I’ve been encouraging my BJJ students practice their rear chokes and submissions to their non-dominant side. For reasons as I’ll discuss in the video, it can be incredibly useful. I also encouraged someone watching the video to do the same thing.
But should you do this early on? Well my answer is sort of yes and no.
I think it’s good to learn a technique to some proficiency on 1 side first and then begin to use it on the other. When you watch the video you’ll see the distinction I make between just knowing a technique vs having learned it.
If this question was on your mind then I hope this video is useful!
Thanks for watching the video.

In this clip coach Zahabi talks about various subjects in the mma/fight world. He talks about how much of a challenge a fight between GSP vs Khabib would be. He also talks about learning bjj on you tube, what if you don’t have access to a gym in your area? Who would win in a fight? Mike Tyson in his prime or Wilder? And finally he touches on the rumors of Tyson Fury beginning a career in mma and how easy it would be transitioning from boxing to mma.
