In this class, we were covering using the Arm Drag and the Russian 2 on 1 from various positions and exploring its uses.
In the last video, I show how to use both to get to the back from Butterfly Guard and then some details on setting up the Rear Naked Choke.
Here, I go a little further into bypassing their defences in order to get the Rear Naked Choke
If you like my particular focus and style of teaching, you can get this kind of instruction almost daily for only $10/Month.
I have over 1000 videos in the library.

The Walk to the Mat: Winning Before the Match Starts 🥋🔥
Many matches are won or lost before the first grip is even exchanged. The walk from the warm-up area to the competition mat is more than just a physical transition—it’s a mental battleground where focus, confidence, and composure are put to the test. 🧠⚔️
During these crucial moments, an athlete must remain fully concentrated on their performance—on execution, not outcome. The mind must be locked in on the game plan, free from distractions, self-doubt, or external pressure. Thinking about winning or losing at this stage only creates unnecessary tension. Instead, the focus should be on trusting the preparation, controlling emotions, and stepping onto the mat with clarity and intent. 🎯
Unfortunately, some competitors underestimate this walk, allowing nerves, fear, or hesitation to creep in. While not always the deciding factor, losing control of your mental state before stepping on the mat can cost you the match before it even begins. ⏳😶🌫️
So, the next time you make that walk, take ownership of your mindset. Breathe, stay present, and remind yourself: The battle begins here. ⚡🥇

Kit Dale is one of the top Jiu-Jitsu competitors to ever come out of Australia and a pioneer of ecological training in the sport, or what he calls task-based games. Kit is an ADCC veteran who enjoyed a very successful career despite transitioning to Jiu-Jitsu from Australian-rules Football late in life, and he recently made a return to competition after several years away.
Jits Magazine spoke to Kit about his unique experience as one of the first high-level Jiu-Jitsu competitors to come out of Australia, and how he discovered the sport to begin with. Kit also discussed how he came to be a pioneer of using task-based games in the sport, and the ecological movement as a whole. We also spoke about Kit’s career as a writer and actor, ahead of the release of his new film; White Belt.

Today, we’ve got a question from a brand NEW BJJ White Belt.
He’s 36 years old, 5 feet 11, and 270 lbs. He’s a big fella.
During his first week of rolling, someone put a shin staple on him during one training session. The shin was just cutting into his arm, making it really painful. His training partner was super shocked by this.
He says he realizes he is just being a p***** & wonders how to make it hurt a lot less.
Most people come into Jiu-Jitsu with some level of naivety, and I’ll try to address the reality of it, especially for new people.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu hurts!
I’ll discuss this fact of BJJ life and more in this video.
If you’re having a similar problem as a newer grappler in BJJ then hopefully you found this video helpful. Thanks for watching.

The Los Angeles Police Department had their lead arrest and control instructors trained in new SafeWrap system to explore the possibility of training all officers in the system.
SafeWrap is a proprietary system of restraint that is designed to maximize physical control while reducing the risk of injury to all parties involved in a use of force encounter.
The system was created by Gracie University in response to inquiries from healthcare institutions that needed a way to safely restrain aggressive, suicidal, or emotionally disturbed patients in hospitals. With patient safety as the top priority, it was imperative that the system utilize no joint locks, no choke holds, and no strikes. The system was specifically designed to minimize compression of the diaphragm to facilitate free breathing and reduce the potential of a panicked response in the restrained individual.
Due to the tremendous success of its application, it was quickly realized that SafeWrap had the potential to facilitate improved outcomes across various public and private sector organizations, while maintaining the public’s confidence in the frontline personnel of these organizations. Institutional applications include, but are not limited to: Law Enforcement, Corrections, Probation/Parole, Fire / EMS, Healthcare, Security, Flight Attendants, Elderly Care, Education, and Childcare.
The SafeWrap system is patent pending worldwide and requires a license for institutional use. The benefit of the license is that it allows Gracie University to stipulate the terms of the system’s use, particularly as it pertains to minimum training requirements, to ensure that end-users are sufficiently trained in this potentially life-saving system.
Gracie University is actively gathering data on the system’s effectiveness. For this reason, there is currently no cost for “early adopter” military, law enforcement, and first responder organizations to acquire a SafeWrap license.
