In this video, I go into detail on one of the best passes to use against strong opponents’ in BJJ. You use the face crank during a knee cut pass when the person on the bottom is really strong to stay postured and use your weight to force the pass.

In 1998, when he was 15, he spent a summer training and living with Jean Jacques Machado in California. I was a purple belt. Jean Jacques instructed me to take this kid under my wing and teach him my truck game. I did. Fast forward almost 25 years.

Today’s BJJ technique focused video is for my student Evan who’s got a great butterfly guard game. And so many of the people in the gym are forcing him to play different positions like half guard. From there it makes it hard for him to get to butterfly guard and he says he’s been getting hit with ankle locks and leg locks.

So in today’s video I’m going to show you some details that I wanted to show him about how he could possibly deal with this.

As a butterfly guard player myself i have the same problem and this has been 1 of the best ways to counter the issue. It hinges on a simple half guard sweep which I’ve shown on the channel that you can then use as an off balancing technique.
