I taught myself how to granby as a white belt, and these are the progressions I used to accomplish that feat. It’s important to understand though, that I weighed around 280 at that time, and it was still possible.

This is a highly effective system for dealing with smash half guard. Just because you lost the underhook, it doesn’t mean that it’s the end of the world. Show em that you’re still dangerous.
I learned most of it from Vince Quitigua’s Lost Secrets of the Half Guard instructional waaay back, and I still use it in my game even now.
But that’s not all.
