Stay woke, all that smile at you aren’t your friend, and stranger’s aren’t always your enemy.

Remember it: you’ll always have a great opportunity to pass your opponent’s guard after a good sweep.
Make sure to sweep and work on your pass right away.
My favorite way to land on top of my opponent after a good sweep is applying the “side smash” or “leg weave” pressure on top. Also, the leg drag. Those are great ways to keep the fight under control while keeping the attack at the same time.
By doing it you’ll give no chance to any guard player prepare their guard & grips on you. The goal is always to attack, and when you are defending you are also attacking, because the best defense is the attack! 🧠 Jiu-Jitsu was created as self-defense.
The guard was created to defend the aggressor’s attacks but there are more attacks from guard – bottom (defensive position in self defense) than from passing the guard – top (aggressor position in self defense). You must neutralize your opponent’s guard.

The paradox of jiu-jiujitsu is: “When you’re defending you’re attacking!” This is how I see it.

Se você não neutralizar a guarda do adversário, ele irá te atacar mesmo em posição de defesa.
