A few weeks ago, I mentioned that I had an issue where I had to take some time off BJJ and had to go to the Emergency room because of that health issue.
Well, today was my very first training session back in about a month and I could feel it. If you’re older and do BJJ you probably know exactly what I’m talking about.
As you age in BJJ you can really tell the difference that a long break makes. I’m not “old” in the sense of full life. But I am for BJJ. That being said, in my mid 30s I definitely don’t recover the same as I did when I was 25.
Anyways, I wanted to share a couple ideas with you guys in relation to getting back to training BJJ after a serious injury, health issue, or whatever else took you off the mat.
Hopefully you find these ideas useful to you.

From time to time, I will post a public video of a class or even seminar that I taught. This is one of those times. This seminar all about setting up, finishing & chaining no gi chokes was a blast, and I am super grateful to Rob Magao and the crew at Manchester BJJ Bushido for having me out. It was a great time, and I can’t wait to get back.
Among the chokes & more included with lots of details are:
– Anaconda
– Darce
– Guillotine
– No Gi Baseball Bat
– Tons of transitions
If you’re interested in having me for a seminar, message me here or on other socials or email me at eliknight173@gmail.com
