2nd Degree Black Belt, Donny Blue, teaches how to attack a Walsh Choke aka Arm Triangle Guillotine, at an AGF Open Mat in Mississippi.
The rolling kimura is a surprising way to pass guard that is increasingly being used at the higher levels of the sport. Here’s Elliott Bayev showing you it’s easier than it looks! From https://www.grapplearts.com/finishes, the 30 Second Fight Finishes instructional available in online streaming, app, and DVD based formats.
I have fell in love with the Switch from the Guards the last few years and teach it often. I was at an open mat with 7 black belts and a bunch of savage purples that work AGF. We were in Jackson, Mississippi at my buddy Anthony Mitchell’s gym, Precision Martial Arts.
The Fundamentals section of the Longstep Masterclass introduces the key concepts that are important for setting up, attacking and finishing the pass. The details explained in this section provide a foundation for the techniques taught in the following sections.
The first Fundamental video focuses on Positioning & Posture, where the 2x world champion explains the proper body mechanics and adjustments to make before applying the pass.

In today’s Q&A BJJ video I answer the question as to whether or not you can take Brazilian Jiu-jitsu too seriously. I think this question comes up because people take a lot of things too seriously in our society at times. We’re all guilty of it. Plus, people experience burn out in a ton of things as well.
So it’s a good question I could chat about for hours. But in the video, I focus on 1 specific idea I think sums up when your training in BJJ crosses the line of “too serious.”
If you keep this element of play mixed into your BJJ I think it will help keep your growth going and also help you avoid burn out. I know it’s been this way for me over the last 20+ years in grappling.
Thanks for watching, hope it gives you a useful idea to chew on.
