I know a lot of people who complain about shooting because the impact on their knees. Especially if you are a heavy weight or have a history of knee problems, it can be problematic. Good technique will often take care of most of these issues, but even then, there is of course some impact. Plus, dropping to your knees on the street isn’t ideal either.
Enter the Snatch Double Leg Shot or the Blast Double. A lot of great fighters have you used this variation of the double to great affect. It is faster, more efficient, and allows you to power through your opponents.
However, it isn’t always available – setting up is key. Here I talk about some of the fundamentals of the Snatch Double leg and how to prevent your neck from breaking. 😉

In this video I show a variation the Cross Collar Choke with the arms being completely straight. There are a lot of different ways to do a cross collar choke, and I personally use a lot of different methods. This is one of my favorite ways to do the Cross Collar Choke as it doesnt burn my grips and it’s highly effective.
Notice the head placement on the mat. Correct basing on the hairline is extremely important, both for safety AND effectiveness. This will take some getting used to as we have been conditioned to maintain weight on our butt in mount rather than our hips and abdominal muscles.
Try it out and let me know what you think.
The forearm in the throat choke can be very frightening if you don’t know how to deal with it. But if you know the correct defense then it’s actually very easy to counter it! This video is taken from https://www.grapplearts.com/selfdefenseguard
