The Best Jiu-Jitsu Search Engine in the World
Good framing is one of the most overlooked and misunderstood parts of Jiu jitsu for many beginning and even intermediate Jiu jitsu students. Sometimes, I’ll even come across athletes with a very good and advanced understanding of movement or submissions who still get caught up in this simple mistake.
Learn to make good, sticky frames and then move yourself around the frames, forcing your opponent to search for ways to make a meaningful connection. In this moment of grasping, the opportunity will manifest itself.

This is the move that started it all for me. The creation of the Kimura Trap System was started with this technique. It is the first entry point into the system that I teach for good reason. It is a very common situation to encounter, and the execution is simple.
Yet, I see this done incorrectly quite a bit, even by advanced black belts. So I highlight the key details of hitting the Kimura Trap here.
For the veterans of the game, you will recognize that this is a sumi gaeshi with a Kimura Grip. Upon finishing the sweep, you will end up in the TV position, which puts you in prime position to begin attacking all sorts of submissions.

Jean Vandesteen is one of the best practitioners I’ve spent time on the mat with. He shares with us a sweep from the guard to a position on the mount that offers a lor of submission opportunities.

I don’t have a name I made up for this Back Take but Mr Andre Galvao called it Pretzelbolo in a video I saw so I’ve stuck with that name ever since.
In this sequence I teach the basics of the back take and the outside heel hook from saddle. Enjoy!
Sometimes when attacking the triangle people feel they have the space to slip out the back door. This is a good attack to finish the armlock without having to open the triangle. If they push themselves back in to save the arm you still have the triangle.
This video we work on a defense to an armbar called the hitchhiker. Check out the details and you are sure to find something useful! Enjoy! If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, please comment below. More videos to come! Please like, share, and subscribe!!
