Jean “Dalua” Cartagena is a Bjj black belt and pro MMA fighter he was born in San Juan , Puerto Rico and began practicing martial arts in 1999. He started wrestling and Muay Thai. In 2003 he began training BJJ under Prof. Luis Santiago of Carlson Gracie team Puerto Rico.
In 2004, Dalua moved to Boston Massachusetts and started training MMA with UFC veteran from Puerto Rico Jorge “El Conquistador” Rivera . Later he moved to Miami and trained with Roberto “Cyborg” Abreu. He returned to Puerto Rico in 2009 and continued teaching and fighting MMA under the Carlson Gracie Puerto Rico Team. In 2012, he relocated to San Antonio, Texas to teach and train under professor Andre “Tim” Monteiro.
In December 2012 he was awarded his Black belt under Andre Monteiro (Carlson Gracie Texas ) . He has competed and trained around the world representing Puerto Rico . He is now the head instructor at DFTC.
