Thank God the civilian employee was present and intervened when he did! Imagine how much worse this could have been if the officer had his firearm taken after he was knocked unconscious.

My favorite technique combo from knee on belly: attack the cross choke, and if they defend, deadlift back take. If they read and resist the back take, go back to the cross choke, which is tighter from them fighting the back take.

This video I overview the idea of side tilting in guard. A lot of people play their guard flat on there back, and this can be very useful, but often playing on your side allows for many benefit. On your side it is easier to maintain distance, it is difficult for your opponent to flatten you to finish their pass, and you have a lot of momentum for setting up attacks. This can also make it easier to set up back takes, berimbolos, and matrix attacks.
