The Ham Sandwich (aka The Bear Trap) is not necessarily an unheard of play in Jiu Jitsu, but it is SUPER rare to see someone that actually has a system and entry and exit points built around it.

The most obvious counter is for your opponent to drive their knee across and cut the angle. When that Happens, switch off to the Toe Hold and go for the leg lock. If they don’t tap (which very well might happen), move on to video #3 in the series!

I switch off from the Ham Sandwich to the Electric Chair and move to the top. One of the best sweeps for BJJ, straight out of the 10th Planet!
