ADCC 2011 >>> my first year living in 🇺🇸.

We didn’t want to move to USA at first because we were focused on my MMA career. But God used a man (pastor Andre) to tell me: “Go an I will be with you. I will “open doors” for you and your family”. Everything God told us that day happened, and still happening in our lives!

Long story short, we conquered many things here. A great friend gave us an academy, my family came later, started a ministry in US, got our green card a year later, no sponsors…became American citizens, conquered many world titles the 2011 ADCC double gold was the first two world titles, built a great team, met great people, traveled all over the world, overcame challenges, We never complaint during the hard times because We know He is in charge of all things. We depend on Him! What is possible for us to do, we do! Whatever is impossible for us to do, HE does!

ADCC 2011 >>> meu primeiro ano morando em 🇺🇸.

Eu não queria me mudar para os EUA no começo porque estava focado na minha carreira no MMA. Mas Deus usou um homem (pastor André) para me dizer: “Vá e eu estarei com você. Vou “abrir portas” para você e sua família ”. Tudo o que Deus nos contou naquele dia aconteceu, e continua acontecendo em nossas vidas!

Para encurtar a história, conquistamos muitas coisas aqui. Um grande amigo me deu uma academia, minha família veio depois, demos início a um ministério nos Estados Unidos, tiramos o green card um ano depois, sem patrocinadores…hoje cidadãos americanos, conquistamos muitos títulos mundiais, o ouro duplo do ADCC 2011 foram os dois primeiros dentro de muitos, construímos uma grande equipe, conhecemos ótimas pessoas, viajamos o mundo todo, superamos desafios, Nunca reclamamos nos momentos difíceis porque sabemos que Ele está no comando de todas as coisas. Dependemos dEle! O que é possível para nós fazermos, nós fazemos! Tudo o que é impossível para nós fazermos, ELE faz!

In this video I answer a question about a newer White Belt who’s saying that other people seem to be learning BJJ much faster than him. During the video I share how I was in the same situation when I first began Brazilian Jiu-jitsu.

A great example of this was during my 1st BJJ competition where my friend Mike (who had started BJJ at the exact same time I did) perform much better than I did during the tournament. His Jiu-jitsu during the matches looked smooth and he was hitting all sorts of techniques, whereas I as struggling to get anything going.

Now I know I’m answering this question for a guy who is still very new to Brazilian Jiu-jitsu but this feeling of being jealous or upset because others are learning faster is something many people struggle with.
