Back in 2008 when I cut 22lbs in 3 months, from 193 lbs to 171 lbs. It requires a lot of discipline to cut the weight while you are training hard. It’s all about the discipline, it’s not easy at all. But it really depends on your mood as well, how are you feeling emotionally during the training camp, dieting, etc. For this fight I dropped really well and very very easy. But I remember on my 4th MMA fight I suffered a lot to cut down to 167 lbs. I felt terrible afterwards and had a couple of health problems afterwards. Pretty intense!
This video was the year I competed at worlds 2008 in June as medium heavy -192.5 lbs lbs. Then my MMA debut in September of the same year against Jeremiah Metcalf (9-4-0) at “Fight 4kidz” in Santa Monica, CA.
🇧🇷 Em 2008, quando eu cortei 11kg em 3 meses, 88kg para 77kg. Exige muita disciplina para reduzir o peso enquanto você está treinando duro. É tudo sobre a disciplina, não é nada fácil. Mas isso realmente depende do seu humor também, como você está se sentindo emocionalmente durante o camp de treinamento, dieta etc. Pra essa luta eu cortei muito bem e muito, muito fácil. Mas eu lembro que na minha quarta luta de MMA sofri muito para reduzir para 76kg. Eu me senti péssimo depois e tive alguns problemas de saúde. Muito intenso!
