FIRST HOOK IS THE SAME SIDE HOOK. When you’re attacking the back from top turtle position: 1. Control the cross collar with the arm (right arm) under the opponent’s arm. Doing that you will give only one option to your opponent to defend (rolling). 2. Follow the rolling posting your hand (left hand) on the mat, hiding legs…your legs can never be in between the opponent’s legs, then attacking your opponent’s side on the “leg drag”. 3. Be ready to attack the back setting up the first hook (left hook). **Notice that my left knee is on the mat near my opponent’s left shoulder, this helps you to set the first hook easily…and then spinning all the way with the first hook in (360 roll). 4. Get the second hook in scoring 4 points. –

?? O PRIMEIRO GANCHO É O MESMO GANCHO DA SUA LATERAL. Quando você está atacando as costas da posição de cima da tartaruga: 1. Controle a gola cruzada com o braço (braço direito) por debaixo do braço do adversário. Fazendo isso você dará apenas uma opção ao seu oponente para se defender (rolando). 2. Siga o rolamento postando sua mão (mão esquerda) no tatame, escondendo as pernas … suas pernas nunca poderão estar entre as pernas do oponente, depois atacando o lado do seu oponente na “tipo leg drag”. 3. Esteja pronto para atacar as costas obtendo o primeiro gancho (gancho esquerdo). ** Observe que meu joelho esquerdo está no tatame próximo ao ombro esquerdo do meu oponente, isso ajuda você a colocar o primeiro gancho facilmente … e então gire todo por cima com o primeiro gancho dentro (360 graus). 4. Coloque o segundo gancho para marcar 4 pontos.

Recently I got a question from a female BJJ Blue Belt who was recently asked to help coach with a female only class. She is excited about the prospect but also nervous.
She’s nervous 1st because she is still beginning herself and so she’s wondering how to go from the mentality of a student to an assistant coach. She’s also curious about how she can help women stick around with training. She’s the only woman currently and she’d like to have other female training partners.
In this video I talk about a few things.
I discuss how I was in a similar situation when I was a Blue Belt in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and was asked to help. I go through how I did things in the hopes of helping our friend.
The big idea I share in this video though is about the way we learn as humans. Which is through modeling others and then creating our own style.
We do this through speech and even our BJJ training. I liken it to coming up to a forest and having a blazed trail. Someone has to blaze the trail.
And by carving a path for women in her area I think Karin will accomplish her goal of helping women stick around but also becoming a better teacher.
