Houston Police Department responds to a call for service where a man is breaking windows, cutting himself with glass and possibly on drugs. The officers tell the man he’s not in trouble but he charges the officer with a blade of glass.
With his Taser drawn, it’s very clear that the officer cannot run backwards as fast as the man can run forward so when he falls down, he uses both legs to block the mans hips while keeping his sights on target. In doing so, he’s able to successfully deploy his taser while avoiding the blade, and then take the man into custody with the help of his partner.
If anyone has contact with the officers in this video, let them know that we want to sponsor their participation the the GST Instructor Certification Course.

Sometimes, our opponent will dig their legs into the ground when you pull them into you, which can give them a good post to block the sumi gaeshi, and also make it hard to hit the rocking chair sweep. That’s when we can abandon the body lock and collect their legs for a simple back sweep.
The key here is to make sure you use your butterfly hooks to draw their legs into you as close as possible. However, even if they are able to make a strong base, we can switch from the simple double knee thrust back sweep into a powerful double foot kick sweep.

There’s a really romantic idea that you can train and compete in jiujitsu and eventually you can make a living grappling.
The truth is the only way to thrive in jiujitsu and have it be your “job” is to operate a jiujitsu academy. It’s not even important to have a ton of competitive accolades. You can skip the grind of 10 years of brutal competition and use that time to establish business fundamentals and learn how to provide true value.
I was the highest paid grappler on earth for a a number of years and even that is dwarfed by the potential of one physical location providing the environment for people to enjoy jiujitsu.
My point here is that you can learn how to establish a recurring revenue business while being around the sport you love. And it’s really not as hard as it looks. Just like jiujitsu you only need a mentor and learning resources
I’ve spent the last few years building systems around how to operate an academy in the modern world, and I want to share this with those who want to also step to up to the highest order of grappling industry. Which is to be the facilitator of mat space AND grappling knowledge.
Dm me the word ACADEMY if you already are trying to create a thriving gym or if you are interested in becoming a gym owner one day. And check out what we’ve built at @legion_ajj and @jiu_jitsu_x to see what I’m all about with grappling business. or go to https://legionajj.com/
